don’t be a gooey chocolate chip cookie

Just finished this week’s TSCC and Dollhouse. Why does the TV have to hurt my brain and break my heart? I didn’t think it was possible for TSCC to wound me more than it did last week with the passing of my absolute favorite character, but it totally did with quite a few things this week. On the bright side though, at least that Jessie is gone. Here’s to hoping she never comes back.

And Dollhouse? I’m so loving the show, but oh my with the heartbreak. OK, so I know not everyone is diggin’ the show as much as I am, but whatever. Mellie/November and Sierra were killing me tonight, especially Sierra. Poor girls. Victor rules! I’ve liked him from the get go, but the past couple of weeks, he’s just been flat out awesome. I don’t recall having seen the actor in anything before, but he’s quite talented and I’m very much enjoying seeing what he brings to the show each week. I’m totally shipping Victor and Sierra now too. You know who I’m starting to like? Topher. He still creeps me out, but I’m finding him to be more funny and nerdy than uber creepy like I did before. I can’t wait for Paul to find out more. Next week can’t get here soon enough.

Where’d you get that juice box and does it come in grapealicious?

Friday the 13th was sooo much fun! I’m so glad we got to see it in a packed theater because it made it that much more fun. The booming laughter, the clapping and cheering probably wouldn’t have happened in a less crowded place. This Jason actually scared me and that hasn’t happened since I was a kid. The old movies scared me when I was young, but as an adult, I was mostly just cheering him on as he bumped off the obnoxious teens and then the films just started being stupid and I stopped caring about them in any capacity. I liked seeing a little bit of a person in Jason this time. I also liked a few of the kids and was kinda hoping they might make it. There wasn’t as much sex and boobies as I’d anticipated, but there was certainly enough. My 2 favorite kills were the sleeping bag and truck and I actually cheered at the truck death because I was so freaking ready for that character to be gone. Padalecki did a great job and I’m not so sure he could have pulled it off a few years ago. I’ve never thought that he was a bad actor at all, but he’s really turned up the heat in his acting over the past few years on Supernatural and I think that helped him out a lot. I’m also glad that it’s another horror film, like MBV, that was made by horror movie fans for horror movie fans. I personally feel that they did a really fantastic job of paying tribute to the originals without tainting them. A definite thumbs up from me and I will most certainly go see it again. :)

In TV news, Psych was a freaking blast this week. It paid tribute to Friday the 13th and April Fool’s Day and I loved every minute of it.

TTSCC made me cry repeatedly. I still don’t really care for Lena Headey, but her moments with the doctor and with a certain someone I can’t really name for the sake of not spoiling those who haven’t seen it yet really got to me. Aside from her part of the story, the only other things that interested me in this episode were the stuff with John Henry (Garret Dillahunt rocks all!) and Shirley Manson’s scenes. Very interesting. Can someone please kill off that gross Jesse girl already? Pretty please? I can’t stand her.

BSG was awesome this week! I hate that this is the last season of the show.

I also watched the premiere of Dollhouse and really enjoyed it. Unfortunately for it, it’s in the timeslot of doom and will certainly be axed in no time. I love the cast and think it’s a nifty concept and would love to see how everything plays out, but I don’t think it’ll survive because it’s not one of those shows that will be embraced by the general public and it’s not quite culty enough to be like Angel or Buffy. Stinks too because I see some potential there.

this is the sweetest little song

I polished off OTH S3 a few days ago and really, really need S4 to arrive in my mailbox soon.

I finally watched The Sarah Connor Chronicles S1 recently and it was really good. Lena Headey bores me greatly, but I will continue to give her a chance. Other actors have grown on me over time, so she might grow on me too.

Butch Walker has a new CD out. Check out some samples here and then go forth and purchase it.

Aidan and I went to see Changeling last weekend. It was his idea that we go see it, which surprised me because he’s usually more of a cheesy horror movie nut. We both thought it was a really well made and well acted on all parts, especially by Angie and Jason Butler Harner who played Gordon Northcott. I hadn’t realized how skinny Angie was during that time, but she was just skin and bones. It worked in her favor though because it added an extra layer of fragility to her character and all that she went through. Jason was just too creepy for words. (WARNING: The rest of this entry contains some slight spoilers regarding Jason’s character and how some of the scenes were filmed.) Continue reading
