dude, you gotta give her the sweetness

James Roday is awesomeness personified. His portrayal of Shawn Spencer is the greatest ever.

I’m completely obsessed with the Twilight series by Stephenie Meyer and the upcoming film as well.

I just finished reading The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones and really enjoyed it for the most part. I only have 1 major complaint with the book and that was the outcome of a particular relationship near the end. I just feel cheated out of what it should have been, but I will get over it soon enough. I started the 2nd book, The Mortal Instruments: City of Ashes, last night and am enjoying it thus far. Here’s to hoping the author doesn’t throw more curve balls at me! ;)

I’ve been bitten by the Gossip Girl bug. It’s not what I’d call a “good” show that everyone and their mother must watch, but it’s incredibly entertaining in a turn your brain off for 45 minutes kind of way. The entire cast is really, really pretty too and that never hurts. Love me some Penn Badgley! He’s just so adorable and I have seen him in other stuff, so it’s not just this show that makes me think he’s adorable. I also have an odd fascination with Chuck or rather Ed Westwick’s portrayal of Chuck. He’s such a creepy slimeball character, but Ed manages to give him a little soul and make him kind of hot at the same time. Ed has the best smarmy facial expressions and his American accent is dead sexy. The one thing I don’t dig about Chuck is his clothing. It’s really awful and a bit too Peeps-colored for my taste. I shall picspam you all later with his hotness and terrible fashion. ;)

Trampolines are fun!

I’ve spent the past 2 days on the trampoline with my son and nieces and I do mean like 4-6 hours a day, not just sporadic bouncing. I’d forgotten how much fun these freaking things are. They are also a great way to exercise without it feeling like exercise because you’re all giggly and having a blast while seeing who can bounce who higher without smacking them into the side guards or anything. More bouncy fun awaits me tonight when I get home from work too. There’s woo and hoo!

If you were planning on watching either Skinwalkers or Hatchet, spare yourself and just say “no” to them both. Skinwalkers was just plain B-A-D and Hatchet was funny but full of nothing but one cliche after another after another and thusly not terribly enjoyable. Sorry, but I prefer some originality with my horror, or at the very least a story that makes some kind of sense, not just buckets of blood spraying from a wound like some live-action Manga video. The “monster” was even lame and OMG so Jason Voorhies-like (and OMG played by the guy who plays Jason) but at least he growled and made noises and stuff, unlike Jason.

New best website ever. Well, for breakfast lovers anyway. ;)

More randomness…

OK, so I’m not the biggest fan of Jennifer Love Hewitt, but I think these photos of her are pretty awesome. No, I’m not being sarcastic and poking fun at her. I actually do think that is really nice to finally see an actress who is a real woman with a real body that isn’t perfect. It hasn’t been liposuctioned or injected or wrapped or nipped or tucked or inflated, or [fill in the blank], which is how most of us truly are under our clothes. The vast majority of women that I know, myself included, do in fact have cellulite on either their rears or legs or both and their breasts do sag bit, especially when they have larger breasts to begin with. Maybe I’m in the minority, but I think its great that she isn’t a stick bug and yet she’s still acting and being invited to premieres and such. Why can’t Hollywood accept the fact that not every woman will be a size 0 or just look “perfect” forever?

Raise your hand if you’re super excited about the premiere of Tin Man this weekend! Kath, Zooey and Alan in a modern spin on The Wizard of Oz. What’s not to love? Here are a few photos of them at the LA premiere last night.

Doodle dee doo

I finally saw 300 the other day and I wasn’t terribly impressed. Aside from the insanely hot male specimens the film had to offer, there wasn’t a whole lot else that I enjoyed because everything looked sooooo CGI. Yes, I knew the whole film was done in CGI, but I didn’t expect the finished product to look entirely fake. The blood looked fake, the dead bodies and flying severed heads and limbs looked totally fake. And was that really Rodrigo Santoro who played Xerxes? If so, they did an excellent job of taking away all that makes him attractive and instead turned him into a totally laughable and non-scary character complete with cheesy-fake-deep-throaty-menacing-voice and all. I think they must have been trying for a more manly version of Jaye Davidson‘s character, Ra, in Stargate, but failed miserably. I also didn’t see anything super special about Lena Headey and I really expected to with all the hoopla surrounding the film and her in general. No offense to her fans, I just didn’t see anything special about her acting abilities. She is pretty, but not quite my cup of tea. And what accent was my beloved Gerry attempting to use? It was bad whatever it was. I don’t mean to nitpick it to death because I know most everyone thought it was a cinematic masterpiece, but I just didn’t see what everyone else saw.

I also watched Zodiac and aside from the excellent acting and stellar cast, I didn’t enjoy it all that much either. My most petty complaint is that of Anthony Edward’s hairpiece. Why??? He’s been mostly bald for forever and I always kind of dug him mostly bald and they had to cover up his glorious mostly baldness with an ugly unnatural hairpiece. Not cool.

The second season of Kyle XY is almost over. I am going to miss it.

Yay for the new season of Dexter starting soon!

If you aren’t watching Psych, then you’re missing out on some major funny. I did a little screencapping the other day of one of my favorite episodes, Shawn vs. The Red Phantom, so go forth and behold the pretty! Picspam coming soon…

I also made a few new Charlize icons the other day, so if you haven’t already seen them at CTC, they are also in the gallery.

Yes, that is all the randomness I have for now. You may now return to your regularly scheduled programs.

Holy bad accent Batman!

While lying around on Sunday afternoon in my non-functional state (I’m having major issues sleeping right now and therefore not getting much more than 3-4 hours a day) I finally broke down and watched Troy. All in all, I really enjoyed the film and the cast, with the exception of The Brad.

The Good
Eric Bana owned this film. Owned it I tell you. His character was wonderful and he was just utterly fantastic. Every moment he was on screen, I was in heaven and I was very indifferent to him before watching this film. Now, I kind of want to bear his children. ;)

The Bad
Brad’s accent. It came. It went. It just kind of sucked. Brad’s golden wavy locks and bronzed chiseled body glistening in the sun and/or moonlight throughout the entire film also made me unhappy and roll my eyes a few times. It’s no secret that I’m not a fan and haven’t been since about 1996 or so and I know it’s strange that I find him repulsive, but I do and there was just too much glistening Brad for my liking.

The Randomness
Diane Kruger should really think about gaining that 10-15 pounds or whatever she had to gain for the film back because she looked 1000 times better with a little more flesh on her face and a teensy bit of meat on her arms.

I never noticed how incredibly long and thin Saffron Burrows neck is. It’s really rather swan-like, but I can’t decide if that’s a good or bad thing or maybe just a little odd.

Orlando Bloom was very meh. His character is such a weenie that it was hard to be all about the Orlando.

Sean Bean was nothing less than awesome.
