Adam & Steve

I’m assuming most of you have seen this already, but if not, you must run out and get it (or stream it on Netflix) ASAP. You will laugh your ass off and love every single second of it. One of my favorite scenes is the shower scene in the gym when Steve starts furiously washing the young guy he meets there. It starts out like it’ll be a sexy scene and then Steve just starts soaping him up and scrubbing his hair because he’s kind of gross. It’s freaking hilarious.

The Curiosity of Chance

I just finished watching it and thought I’d share the trailer for those who haven’t seen it yet. I can’t say it’s the greatest gay film I’ve ever seen or even highly original, but it is quite enjoyable to watch. It has likeable characters, a nice cast, fun tunes, drag queens and a pair of little silver booties I would love to own (you’ll know them when you see them). I also thought Tad Hilgenbrink and Brett Chukerman were just beyond adorable as Chance and Levi and must check out some of their other work and soon.

Bottom line: If you are in the mood for a cute little gay teen film set in the 80′s, you should check it out.

The Nines

I just finished watching The Nines and quite enjoyed it. It’s a strange and intriguing little film with a terrific cast. I can’t really say anything more about it without spoiling it and I don’t want to do that. If you’re in the mood for something a little different, then give it a whirl and see what you think.

Strictly Ballroom

I just watched Strictly Ballroom for the bazillionth time and it’s still just as fantastically fantastic as it was the very first time I saw it with my beloved friend Darie. I can’t imagine anyone having not seen it, but if for some reason you haven’t, you must get it and watch it soon. Baz Luhrmann is pure genius and you will love this film from start to finish.

oh my chad!

In the world of TV…

Lost continues to blow my mind. It’s so freaking good, but oh my how the time frames are confusing my poor brain.

Chuck is consistently funny as hell each week. I know it’s not everyone’s cup of tea, but it always has Aidan and I howling. We were all but rolling on the floor last night at some of the stuff that happened, like when Chuck goes to save the day, but trips and gets his foot caught in a window and breaks it while managing to create a diversion for Sarah and Casey. Priceless! I’m still waiting for Sarah and Chuck to have some hot sex at least once. They both love each other and can’t be together, but that doesn’t mean that they can’t get it on. Sure, it would probably be funny sex rather than super hot sex and it would make for awkward moments later down the road, but that would also make for more funny.

I’m still loving Dollhouse and so far ep 2 has been my favorite. For one, it had a whole lot of Matt Keeslar in it and anything with Matt in it is a good thing. He’s so dreamy even when he’s playing a creepy and super crazy killer. It’s had the strongest Echo story so far in terms of her adapting to her surroundings and doing what needed to be done to save herself since that wasn’t something that was programmed into her. Episode 3 had a bit of that too with her thinking for herself and pushing death in the face of the diva singer who only thought she wanted to die. Episode 4 wasn’t a strong episode all around, but I still found it to be enjoyable because of the other moving parts in the story. Sierra, Echo and Victor becoming a group is intriguing. This can’t end well for them since they aren’t supposed to develop friendships, but I think it’s interesting. I am intrigued as to why they keep sending Victor to Paul when he won’t stop his search for the Dollhouse. I am intrigued by Alpha (clearly alive) and how he’s doing what he’s doing on the outside. Does he have help? Why is Echo so important? Were they friends? Relatives? In love? Me wants to know!

In movie news…
We went to see Watchmen on Saturday and all in all I really loved it. I have not read the graphic novel yet, but I will do so very soon. I was super excited about the film and wanted to hold off on reading it because I didn’t want to compare the two in my head as I watched the film and inevitably not be able to fully enjoy the film. That being said, here are some of my likes and dislikes and yes, there are some spoilers…

Some people are just born evil. The kid from ‘The Omen’, the children of the corn… Chad Michael Murray.

Garret Dillahunt is made of awesome and so is Mycah. View it. Love it. If it doesn’t make you want to check out his work or at least think dirty thoughts about him then we can no longer be friends. Sorry. ;)

I’m finally getting a much needed haircut today. Yay!!! I can’t wait!

Lindsay Lohan looks like poop on a stick these days. She used to have such potential and she was so gorgeous. It’s unfortunate that she doesn’t have a better support system who could help her and get her healthy again.

This is what happens happens to people who used to be pretty when they decide to fugly up and get really, really, really horrible plastic surgery. Yes, it is the same person and yes, it is terrifying. Be afraid. Be very, very afraid.

I started Blue Bloods on Friday night and finished it Saturday afternoon. It’s the first book in a long while that has held my interest for more than 2 minutes. I was itching to read Masquerade right after, but I couldn’t find it in any stores, so I picked up the first couple of Morganville Vampire books instead and am totally loving this series as well. I finished book the first yesterday and am about half way through the second. I do hope my shipment of the remaining books in the series comes soon because I need more!

Now if I could just finish the last few pages of Nick and Norah’s Infinite Playlist. *le sigh* It’s a good book, it’s just not what I’ve been in the mood for lately and therefore I’ve been putting off finishing it. I am enjoying the book more than I enjoyed the film, but please don’t read that as I didn’t enjoy the film because I did enjoy it. I just enjoyed it as it’s own thing. Not a movie based on the book. The film is quite different from the book and I think that maybe I should have watched the movie before I started reading so I didn’t have this idea formed in my head of what Nick and Norah would be like or how they would feel towards one another. In the book, I really tuned into how they feel about their situations with their respective exs, how they were beginning to feel about each other, how insecure and scared and excited they were inside and how the music made them feel on an intimate level. In the film though, I didn’t feel that and that saddens me a bit. Don’t get me wrong, I totally love Michael Cera and Kat Dennings and they were great, but they didn’t feel like the Nick and Norah from the book to me and the movie as a whole was more vanilla than I expected. Not in a bad way, just not in a way that made me “feel” like the book did.
