Friday the 13th was sooo much fun! I’m so glad we got to see it in a packed theater because it made it that much more fun. The booming laughter, the clapping and cheering probably wouldn’t have happened in a less crowded place. This Jason actually scared me and that hasn’t happened since I was a kid. The old movies scared me when I was young, but as an adult, I was mostly just cheering him on as he bumped off the obnoxious teens and then the films just started being stupid and I stopped caring about them in any capacity. I liked seeing a little bit of a person in Jason this time. I also liked a few of the kids and was kinda hoping they might make it. There wasn’t as much sex and boobies as I’d anticipated, but there was certainly enough. My 2 favorite kills were the sleeping bag and truck and I actually cheered at the truck death because I was so freaking ready for that character to be gone. Padalecki did a great job and I’m not so sure he could have pulled it off a few years ago. I’ve never thought that he was a bad actor at all, but he’s really turned up the heat in his acting over the past few years on Supernatural and I think that helped him out a lot. I’m also glad that it’s another horror film, like MBV, that was made by horror movie fans for horror movie fans. I personally feel that they did a really fantastic job of paying tribute to the originals without tainting them. A definite thumbs up from me and I will most certainly go see it again.
In TV news, Psych was a freaking blast this week. It paid tribute to Friday the 13th and April Fool’s Day and I loved every minute of it.
TTSCC made me cry repeatedly. I still don’t really care for Lena Headey, but her moments with the doctor and with a certain someone I can’t really name for the sake of not spoiling those who haven’t seen it yet really got to me. Aside from her part of the story, the only other things that interested me in this episode were the stuff with John Henry (Garret Dillahunt rocks all!) and Shirley Manson’s scenes. Very interesting. Can someone please kill off that gross Jesse girl already? Pretty please? I can’t stand her.
BSG was awesome this week! I hate that this is the last season of the show.
I also watched the premiere of Dollhouse and really enjoyed it. Unfortunately for it, it’s in the timeslot of doom and will certainly be axed in no time. I love the cast and think it’s a nifty concept and would love to see how everything plays out, but I don’t think it’ll survive because it’s not one of those shows that will be embraced by the general public and it’s not quite culty enough to be like Angel or Buffy. Stinks too because I see some potential there.
Very Happy Friday was equally as enjoyable for you too! Definitely the audience being pumped and cheering heightened your experience and since you really can’t see the movie like that ever again (like you said It doesn’t happen with smaller crowds or at home) it’s nice to atleast see it once like this! I totally ditto the scary Jason comment as well. Jason fucking charged the bitches in this one LOL. The truck kill was HILARIOUS and so worth it. That guy’s scream was so funny. Jared really has grew into a much better actor than people give him credit for and I definitely see good things for him in the future if he doesn’t get typecast. You know I just realized something recently, only you will truly appreciate this (only think I told riikka, but may have mentioned this to you too). I was pumped and saw the midnight screening of MBV (Jensen). Then Friday (Jared). Now next is Watchmen with Papa Winchester. Truly Supernatural owns all. LMAO
TSCC Was a really wonderful episode. I loved all the scenes with Jonathan Jackson’s character too. I’m ready for a Shirley vs Garret showdown! REALLY HATE JESSE!!!!!!!!!!! I’ve even started kinda warming up to Riley in my total hate for Jeese now lol
I downloaded Dollhouse but haven’t watched. Part of me is excited just because I like the idea of playing lots of characters and the other part isn’t a Joss lover because I haven’t seen his work (despite wanting to) and really feel it will be canceled so I don’t want to bother either.
Honestly if Dollhouse gets canned and TSCC goes with it. I will be so royally pissed at the Whedon fanbase (for being to cult) that it could make me not want to watch Buffy and Angel and Firefly… Okay not really but you see my point
What angers me most is if you look at the ratings every week for TSCC, it DOES WELL. Like top 5 and all I believe, but yet they still want to pull the plug as if something better will fill it’s slot. So frustrating!
