Whoo hoo! Chuck in 3D in 5 minutes. Can’t wait!
I went to see My Bloody Valentine 3D two more times this past weekend. That makes 4 viewings and it just gets better each time. Aidan was super happy to finally see it in 3D, though a few of the scenes freaked him out a little because of the things that come hurtling towards the screen.
They showed the trailer for The Last House on the Left before MBV and it looks really, really good. Even though the cast is fantastic, I’ve ready some good reviews and this one is apparently very restrained when compared to its original counterpart, I’m pretty certain that I won’t be able to watch it in theaters or on DVD. Well, maybe on DVD if I turn the sound off and fast forward through the rape with my eyes closed, but otherwise I won’t be able to handle it. I just don’t handle rape scenes well at all and seeing Garret Dillahunt attack poor little Sara Paxton will probably scar me for life. I love him as Cromartie and have enjoyed the few other things I’ve seen him in, but I’m pretty certain that I wouldn’t be able to look at him the same after seeing him in such a role. *shudders* I’ve never been able to see the original because of all the things I’ve read about it. It sounds like one of the most sadistic films ever and that it is simply sadistic for the sake of being sadistic and that isn’t my cup of tea.
On a lighter note, I’m still thoroughly enjoying S2 of Mad Men. Someone needs to get on the ball and make shiny and frequently updated Christina Hendricks and Jon Hamm fansites for me to visit because I need to ogle the pretty. I would do it myself, but I have no time and no desire to start any new sites.
I’m finally all caught up on BSG and it’s still one of the bestest shows ever. Leoben and Starbuck should have a scene in every episode and they should also have lots of hot Cylon sex and make babies. I know most people are Lee/Kara shippers, but no one has more chemistry with her than Leoben does. Not even Sam and we all know how crazy hot Michael Trucco is, right? Callum and Katee just have that thing that pops off the screen and I was immediately on board for what would never be from the the very first scene they shared together. Good stuff, people! You should totally watch even if you don’t think you’ll be into it because it’s Sci Fi because it’s a really fantabulous show with an even more fantabulous cast.
So missed Chuck! ARGH! I was so wanting to watch (especially after being Superbowl hyped). Oh well
I’m so crushing Christina Hendricks & January Jones right now – and I haven’t even begun Mad Men! *Yikes*
Garret Dillahunt is made of awesome! I have to say I’m SO looking forward to the remake. I really loved the original so it’s held up really high for me, but the trailer for this one was amazing (me and the damn trailers!) the song and editing was top notch so it’s really got me sold. I’m totally with you though, worried about the scenes with Garret and Sara. And yes the original is pure shock and awe for the sack of being that and is nothing more so I can totally see how you would want to avoid it. This one almost looks to be more distburning because the cast of actors don’t just seem “crazy” and nobodies I care about in the end. I have always liked Aaron Paul, and Riki Lindhome has a real intense look to her and then like Monica Potter seems like she’s gonna break your heart. But I’m very excited for the movie.
I’m SO wanting to watch Battlestar. I know before I always thought it would be something I wouldn’t like, but I’ve heard such good things from it that I’ve gotten interested. I’ll definitely be checking it out one day!
Btw 4 Times – OMFG! Damn Girl!
Chuck was much fun, though we didn’t have the right 3D glasses.
You must hop on the Mad Men bandwagon. It’s good stuff. Oh, January. Such a horrifyingly bad actress, but so ridiculously freaking pretty. I love her character.
Indeed he is. I loved the trailer for the remake too. That version of Sweet Child O Mine set such a haunting tone and the way it was all edited really was fab. I don’t know if you’ve read this review (WARNING: CONTAINS SPOILERS. DON’T CLICK IF YOU DON’T WANT TO READ THEM.) at Horror Movie a Day or not, but it’s a really good one. He talks about how well the restraint they used works, how the changes in some of the things that happen with the characters work for the better and things like that. It’s one of my favorite little blogs because he watches even more crappy horror films than I do.
You have to, have to, have to watch BSG. The writing, cinematography, cast and characters are amazing. I didn’t really get that into the mini that ran before the series started, but within the first half of the first ep after the mini, I was totally hooked. The first big stand out in the cast is Tricia Helfer and that’s from the get-go. Her portrayal of Number 6 is phenomenal. Why is it so phenomenal you might ask? It’s because she plays a lot of different Number 6 models and every single one is different. Some have big differences and some have very subtle differences, but they are all distinctive and interesting. The other real stand outs in the cast are Edward James Olmos as Adama, Tamoh Penikett as Helo, James Callis as Gaius Baltar and Callum Keith Rennie as Leoben. Well, those are my favorites anyway. The vast majority of the BSG fandom seem to love Starbuck and Lee the most, but neither of them really do it for me. It’s not that I don’t like them, they just don’t interest me as much as the others.
I know! It’s like you with Twilight. Hahaha!
Skipped the Last House review. One of my biggest curiosities is how they will make this one different. So I’ll save that! But will check this site out!
Cool to know about Tricia, was always wondering about that one!
