I’ve recently become obsessed with Mad Men (thanks Riikka!) and decided to spruce things up with a shiny new Joan-inspired look last week. It’s simple yet cute like the Brooke theme, but way more girlie.
Aidan and I went to see Underworld: Rise of the Lycans last night and loved it! I loved the first one, but hated the second and that made me a little worried about what they might do with this one since it focused on my favorite character, Lucian. They did him justice though and I adore him now more than ever. Well, I would adore Michael Sheen in a shaving cream commercial, but that’s beside the point. Hahaha! Seriously though, he’s the perfect Lucian. He gives the character heart and really makes you feel for him and I just don’t think the character would be same if another actor was behind the portrayal. On an unrelated Michael Sheen/Lucian note, it was very cool to see how Raze became a Lycan. I didn’t care much for him in the first film because he just seemed like the mean muscle of the Lycan clan, but in this one he’s got much more going on and I really dug his relationship with Lucian. Very cool indeed. I’m a total Lucian/Sonja shipper now too. I loved them together. Such a tragic love story.
I watched My Bloody Valentine 3D twice last weekend (once in 3D and once digital) and can’t wait to see it again. It’s so much fun and was totally made for people like me and Mycah. I love it when directors and writers get things right and actually create something for themselves and the audience. So many horror movies miss the mark when they try to be too serious, too funny, too smart, too gory for the sheer hell of it and the list goes on and on. I much prefer horror and semi-horror films that you can just go and have a good time watching and this is definitely one of those films.
Aidan and I are now anxiously awaiting the new Friday the 13th. I hope it’s as much fun as it looks like it’s going to be.
How awesome was last week’s Lost? So awesome! I am so excited about this season!
LOVE the new look and Joan/Christina herself, as you well know.
I can’t wait to see My Bloody Valentine 3D – it looks like a lot of fun! I think they only show it digitally in here, though.
Love the new look so pretty! I must see Mad Men soon
(But your other pages load the old theme for me :/)
I’m a bit iffers on Underworld. I kinda wanna see it and I kinda don’t… Seriously thinking of just waiting for DVD. The Uninvited comes out this weekend, the movie looks to make no sense whatsoever (is it an evil stepmom movie, a ghost movie or what?!) but it’s got Miss Banksy sooo I might see it. haha. I really wanna see Valentine again, but in 3D, I’m not sure if I will like it as much in standard 2D. But Jensen and Jaime pretties might make up!
Still haven’t caught up on lost – haha
ixnay the theme page problems! It all looks perfect now
Riikka: Thanks!
The digital version is a blast too, it’s just a little cooler in 3D.
Mycah: Yes, you must! I’m sure you already love Christina’s curves, but you’ll really love her portrayal of Joan. Plus, Jon Hamm is awesome as Don. He’s mine and Riikka’s new favorite leading man. So handsome too!
If you’re a big Lucian love like myself, then you should definitely see the new Underworld in theaters. If not, wait for the DVD. It’s all about Lucian and Sonja. Well and Viktor too, but I don’t really care so much about him. He’s so mean.
The Uninvited. Ugh. It’s a partial rip off of A Tale of Two Sisters and partially something else, though I’m not sure what that is. A Tale of Two Sisters rocks and you should definitely see if if you haven’t yet. I’m not quite sure what they’ve done to the story in The Uninvited though because it’s clearly not the same storyline. At least not all of it anyway. I will probably see it on DVD, but not in theaters because I love the original film so much.
Must catch up on Lost! Soooo good!
<3 the new layout, almost as much as i <3 you!
