Finally, my first post of the new year. I hope you all had a fabulous time over the holidays. We kept it pretty low key and overdosed on massive amounts of Lost and Gilmore Girls.
I can see why I stopped watching Lost when S3 was airing because it started off really slow. I really wish I’d have stuck it out though because it did start rockin’ again. And S4 was freaking awesome, especially the episode The Constant. I was all but biting my nails in anticipation of what was going to happen next. The one funny thing about re-watching everything from the beginning again is that characters that I initially loved, I ended up not really caring about at all and characters that I was kind of iffy about I ended up just absolutely loving. Upon a second viewing, my favorites are Hurley (always loved him), Desmond (so many amazing layers), Charlie (who knew?) and Ben (so good at being evil). I always liked Hurley because he was like a giant teddy bear that you just wanted to keep with you at all times. He made me and Aidan both cry quite a few times. When Hurley is sad, he makes everyone sad. *pets him* Desmond + Penny = epic love! Henry Ian Cusick is amazing as Desmond and the connection he and Penny have is, well, epic and the damned writers had better let them be together until the end of time. Charlie had his flaws, but all in all, he had a really good heart and was a good person and I really enjoyed watching his story unfold. As for Ben, I didn’t really care for him or about him, but I did enjoy watching to see what nasty trick he would throw out next. He was so manipulative and deceitful, but ended up being honest and helpful at times too. A very interesting mix. Yay for the new season starting soon!
I’m love, love, loving re-watching Gilmore Girls. It’s such fun and has a huge heart. I want my own Luke. *sigh*
I officially gave up on trying to finish reading Breaking Dawn. I left off about 570-ish pages in and just looked up spoilers for the remainder of the story. I’m not one to do that with books, but I couldn’t take it anymore. It was such a piece of garbage and I can truly say now that I did in fact grow to hate it. I’m glad I didn’t spend anymore time on it either because from the spoilers I found (from where I left off through the end of the story) I most likely would have hurled the stupid book into a wall. The other books might have been full of cheese and LOL moments, but at least they were enjoyable and I actually cared about the characters in them. This one just frustrated me from about page 100 on and that makes me kinda sad. Oh well, I’m done with it now so I really should stop complaining.
Last complaint of the day…I spent all day at home waiting on the cable company to come fix the internet and cable. It took them about 2.5 hours, but all is well again. Apparently one of my neighbors took it upon themselves to take my cable and hook it up to their satellite and that’s what knocked everything out. I don’t know what they were thinking, especially considering cable doesn’t work with satellite. The thing that irks me about these neighbors taking my cable is the fact that we get along really well and they have always been so nice. I would have even let them watch my TV if they needed entertainment. Stupid neighbors!
I feel the same way about Lost! Alot of characters I used to liked I started hating and vice versa…right now Ben rules!
I guess you’re not alone with hating Breaking Dawn! I don’t understand it though, I think it’s like the best book LOL. I have read why people don’t like it and I defend every point. But you can’t blame me, I’m a sucker for fairytale endings!
Yay for the Ben love! Who do you dislike the most or just don’t care about now?
I feel like I’m in the minority with the BD hate. Would you mind sharing why it’s your favorite? I’m genuinely curious. I just don’t understand what it is that made so many people love it so when it irritated me so and it would be nice to hear your thoughts on it. Again, that’s not a snide comment or anything, I really would like to know. It might make me see things differently. You know?
I need to catch up on S4, got like 5 epis for the new one begins! I was so happy reading your lost thoughts! I don’t have anyone I fandom with about it so that was fun reading and definitely got me anxious to watch those episodes. Hurley is TOTAL love <3 <3 <3 <3
I bought Seasons 1-4 of Gilmore around Xmas time – amazing prices! I began watching (loving again, I stopped like S2/3 and caught episodes here and there) and loving the show (such a pretty show!!! – would love to be watching this during fall) but I have stopped because I got back into House and Big Love rewatches at the time. But I will resume it one day for sure. I tend to load up on DVD sets during the Xmas sales and then don’t buy anything again until the next year so I have plenty of time haha!
So sad about BD
I still haven’t bothered reading heh!
Did you get caught up on S4? It was soooooo good! I can’t wait for the premiere tonight! Wheee!
I know! I couldn’t resist buying all 7 seasons at Christmas. Such a great show!
Do you think Big Love would be something I might like? I like the cast, but I was unsure of checking it out.
You might enjoy it, but if you can’t get into it, be a bad girl like me and look up spoilers.
