Sep 10Just because it has made me about 50 times more excited to see ‘Broken’ than I already was, below is my girl Heather’s music video for “The Hanging Tree” from the film. I already posted it at heather-graham.org, but thought I’d post it here too because I truly am beyond excited about the film and can’t help but pimp it everywhere I can. A LOT of people have been making really nasty comments about Heather for doing this video and that makes me feel really bad for her, especially since she actually sounds pretty damned good for an actress who isn’t a trained singer. Plus, none of the nasty commentors seem to understand that she sings the song in the film and that is why she did the video, not because she’s trying to become a rocker chick or anything. Enough ranting and on to the video…
I got my first spider bite a few days ago and yuck. I didn’t even know I had a bite until a few days later when the spot turned bright red and got a little hole in it. It’s on my hip, right where my pants, etc. rub, so I didn’t even feel it until it got tender. So weird and so gross. They are coming to spray my place in a few days, so hopefully that will take care of any other unwanted visitors that might be trying to crawl up through the drain.
I capped ‘Broken English’ last week and caps are now available in the gallery if anyone is interested in using them for artsy purposes or just ogling the pretty. 
Oh and how could I forget the train wreck that was Britney Spears’ big comeback on the VMA’s? Horrible doesn’t even begin to describe her look (I guess I should be happy she covered her girl parts up at least) or supposed performance. I’ve never been a fan and I’ve never felt bad for her because she seems to purposefully seek out all the publicity, good, bad and otherwise, but I actually felt a wee (and I do mean wee) bit sorry for her because she sucked so bad and apparently Sarah Silverman said such horrible things about her and her kids, which is just in such poor taste. Make fun of the train wreck all you want, but not someone’s kids. That’s just cruel.

Seriously she was not making THAT bad of a joke, sure she COULD have left them out of it but It wasn’t as bad as people make it out IMO, and I thought it was hilarious. Apparently a rumor is Britney did bad because she heard about the joke before hand – well if that be the case why not actually rock the performance and have her look like the idiot – lol. Well that didn’t happen. Britney was just – oh god, the words don’t even describe it. Sarah said “they are the most adorable mistakes” or something, I thought it was funny. Everyone in the audience was to busy being stuck up their own asses to get the “joke” of it.
She made fun of Amy Wino too, lol. Sarah – marry me?!
I finally got to hear/see what she said about Britney and the kids and while it wasn’t the most horrible thing ever, the part about the kids was a little tacky, especially since she made the hairless vagina joke and then tilted her head sideways and mimicked the look of said vagina with her mouth. I think it’s me being a mom that finds the ripping on the kids tacky. She can rip on Britney and her lack of undies all day long though.
I’m with you on thinking that if she knew what was going to be said that she should have given her all instead of some lame-o performance that made her looks like the big joke that everyone thinks she is.
I totally missed the Amy thing. Must watch that because Amy is just sooooo gross and is also a train wreck and a half.
Yes Amy is a total wreck, but I admit I like some of her songs, but it’s part of the fun lol
Unfortunately I was introduced to Amy’s grossness before her music, so she has kind of ruined me on wanting to listen to her music. To be fair to her though, the only thing I’ve heard her sing is Rehab, which I personally think is wretched, but if she’s got some good stuff that you can recommend, I can attempt to give her another listen.
GAH, sorry for TOTALLY sucking at commenting! I’ve been reading all of your entries but I’ve just been ‘all over the place’ and hence not really that active in commenting.
I agree, Britney was a total mess at the VMA. I love Sarah Silverman and even if a joke would be out of line (which I personally think it was not), it is no excuse for a performance like Britney’s.

Gray Matters was cute. Did the elevator scene between Gray and Sam make you cry? I cried like a baby. Broken comes out on DVD in November here in the US, so I’ll be sure and send a copy your way once I get it in my hot little hands.
Yes, totally, especially Gray’s speech there. So touching. I don’t get why the film got such crushing reviews, even from AfterEllen.com (etc). Well, AE.com likes TLW so I guess they need their heads checked… I would call Gray Matters 110% better lesbian representation than TLW any given day! Grr.
I had no idea Broken was coming out on DVD so soon! That’s mega exciting!
I didn’t understand the crap reviews either. It was the greatest film I’ve ever seen in my life, but it was cute and sweet and funny and Heather looked amazing and played off of Tom Cavanagh very well. Plus, there was Alan Cumming and who doesn’t love him? Stupid AE.com!
I know! I have RichE to thank for finding out about the DVDs. I cannot wait!
