Doodle dee doo

I finally saw 300 the other day and I wasn’t terribly impressed. Aside from the insanely hot male specimens the film had to offer, there wasn’t a whole lot else that I enjoyed because everything looked sooooo CGI. Yes, I knew the whole film was done in CGI, but I didn’t expect the finished product to look entirely fake. The blood looked fake, the dead bodies and flying severed heads and limbs looked totally fake. And was that really Rodrigo Santoro who played Xerxes? If so, they did an excellent job of taking away all that makes him attractive and instead turned him into a totally laughable and non-scary character complete with cheesy-fake-deep-throaty-menacing-voice and all. I think they must have been trying for a more manly version of Jaye Davidson‘s character, Ra, in Stargate, but failed miserably. I also didn’t see anything super special about Lena Headey and I really expected to with all the hoopla surrounding the film and her in general. No offense to her fans, I just didn’t see anything special about her acting abilities. She is pretty, but not quite my cup of tea. And what accent was my beloved Gerry attempting to use? It was bad whatever it was. I don’t mean to nitpick it to death because I know most everyone thought it was a cinematic masterpiece, but I just didn’t see what everyone else saw.

I also watched Zodiac and aside from the excellent acting and stellar cast, I didn’t enjoy it all that much either. My most petty complaint is that of Anthony Edward’s hairpiece. Why??? He’s been mostly bald for forever and I always kind of dug him mostly bald and they had to cover up his glorious mostly baldness with an ugly unnatural hairpiece. Not cool.

The second season of Kyle XY is almost over. I am going to miss it.

Yay for the new season of Dexter starting soon!

If you aren’t watching Psych, then you’re missing out on some major funny. I did a little screencapping the other day of one of my favorite episodes, Shawn vs. The Red Phantom, so go forth and behold the pretty! Picspam coming soon…

I also made a few new Charlize icons the other day, so if you haven’t already seen them at CTC, they are also in the gallery.

Yes, that is all the randomness I have for now. You may now return to your regularly scheduled programs.

  1. I definitely did not find 300 a MASTERPIECE, gosh it was cheesy but I thought it was “fucking awesome” if you get want I mean. I generally loved it’s imagery as well.

Now Zodiac I LOVED. I Did find it long, but I enjoyed it. I got to see my beloved Pell stabbed to death *wee* LOL. j/k. Gosh 3 of my most favorite men Jake, Mark & RDJ. *sighs* gosh RDJ was so sexy until he went all drunken-mess lmao. *off to oogle Robert pix now*

  2. Hey Stef!!! 300 was a horrible movie. I went to see it expecting it too be awesome (fuck you, critics!) and it was a pain in the ass. It had no story whatsoever. They just… fight. Gay Rodrigo? Horrible. It was horrible.

Good things? Gerry, Gerry’s ass, and Gerry’s bulge, hehe.

I never went to see this movie (it didn’t have any promotion here in Spain) but I downloaded. I started watching it and fell asleep. Then I realised I had to watch over 2 hours more and I simply deleted it.

BTW, I started blogging again! :)

  3. Mycah: It was quite pretty, but too fake-y for my liking. The hot half-naked men though? Yum!

I didn’t think Zodiac was terrible, just not all that great and I think it was partially due to the fact that it was so freaking long. The acting was top notch by all though and that is always a good thing. Poor Pell. Poor Ione too, at least she lived though. Love RDJ! He’s such an amazing actor and so very versatile.

Ivan: Yay for not loving it either! I had no idea that was Rodrigo until after I watched it. I don’t know how I will look at him again without laughing.

Gerry = yum! I don’t think he’s ever looked so hot.

Probably for the best that you didn’t finish it. It truly is well acted and has a wonderful cast, but it was soooo long and all drama and it just didn’t float my boat.

Yay! I’ll hop over and check things out in just a bit. :)
