Hello all! I didn’t really disappear so much as I’ve been super busy with work and various projects and was out of town for a week visiting the kiddo. Now to play catch up…
I have new hair! It’s now a lovely rich chocolate brown. I’ll try and post pics soon.
The new Linkin Park albums is most excellent. I’m currently obsessed with ‘Bleed it Out’ and ‘Shadow of the Day’ (sooooo good!) Ryan Adams new album, Easy Tiger, is also filled with much awesomeness.
jonathan-togo.com is now open, so go forth and pimp it. It’s not 100% complete, but will be soon. Yes, I do realize that I don’t really need another site, but there weren’t any really good resources out there on him and he rocks, so I couldn’t help myself.
I finally found Season 2 of Special Unit 2, so yay to that! I was getting kind of tired of looking around for it.
Can anyone explain the “CaRWash” ‘ship name for Calleigh and Ryan on CSI: Miami? I just don’t get it. I know where “Ca” and “RW” come into play, but not the “ash” part. It doesn’t make any sense. I don’t really like fused names anyway, except for LoVe because its cute and Logan and Veronica rocked.
The Beckhams scare me. I know their shoot for W Magazine is supposed to be H-O-T but I think the pics are more skanky and creepy than sexy. David actually looks more alien-like than Victoria now. *shudders*
I watched Behind the Mask: The Rise of Leslie Vernon over the weekend and LOVED it. It was just so much fun and very different from the typical “slasher” flick. The lead actor, Nathan Baesel, was wonderful. He has an incredibly natural talent, which is something that I love, love, love to see on film. This is the first thing I’ve ever seen him in and I’m definitely looking forward to seeing him in more stuff.
I love my new dental piece! For those of you not in the know, I have a really bad habit of clenching my teeth together pretty much 24-7 and have cracked a couple of my back teeth because I’ve been doing it for so many years, so my dentist (Dr. Steve Martin-seriously) suggested I get a “night guard” made. I’m so glad that I finally broke down and got one made even though my wallet is now somewhat unhappy and it’s not the prettiest thing ever and I can’t really speak properly with it in, but it’s helping a lot and that’s all that really matters.
For those of you who used to visit mia-online.org frequently, do you miss it? Would you be interested in seeing it make a comeback? Would you have a problem with there not being any new L Word related things on the site? Any other thoughts on Mia or TLW or the potential return of the site that you’d like to share? The reason I’m asking is because I miss the site a lot and have been considering bringing it back (not tomorrow or anything, but maybe over the next couple of months). I had a feeling that I probably would be missing it terribly once Season 4 of TLW ended and I stopped feeling seething hatred towards Ilene Chaiken She Who Must Not Be Named for what she did to Mia’s character AND after I stopped feeling disappointed in Mia for performing the trash that was written for her. I even held on to the domain name and Gertie agreed to keep a backup for me just in case so it could all easily be restored. The main thing holding me back is the fact that I know that I will be getting emails (comments in news would likely be disabled) asking why there aren’t any new TLW things being added. I know that’s a lame reason, but seriously, I know it will happen because they flooded in before the site even closed. Even though I had a HUGE post that was incredibly detailed about why I chose not to continue supporting the heinous show, I still got emails asking why and that annoyed the crap out of me. The spam that flooded the site on an hourly basis was driving me nuts as well and between those couple of things and the fact that the show was literally making my blood boil (no really, just ask Riikka how angry I was), I just couldn’t take it anymore and decided to close it all down. Now though, I’m missing it even though there have only been a couple of news worthy items to posting and not much new media at all, except for a sexy and sassy spread in Italian Vogue a couple of months ago.
OI! I just squeed with delight when I heard you’re even CONSIDERING bringing back Mia. hehe. I really liked that site, and Mia. Never much of a super fan but yes I would love to see it back – so there is one for the yes haha! I remember her back in New Best Friend, my first fond memories of Miss Mia. This Italian Vogue spread peaked my interest too heh.
Btw I never got to watch The L Word (will get around to dvds one day) so maybe this is why lol! So is the show still on air, and is Mia still on it? I can understand you being fed up with something and continuing not to cover an aspect of someone’s career. Angie does this with some of her sites and I really don’t think her sites lack anything IMO. I think it’s ultimately the site’s maintainer’s decision. Now I have to say, It does suck to be SUCH a fan of said show/role and to have it be ignored, but if you said your peace then it’s your choice.
The Beckhams freak me out. I seriously hate them. ughs. And this spread makes me wanna vomit. They are so trying to do like Angie and Brad did it in 05 and they failed misrably.

As you know, I love and adore Mia and the site – but as we discussed earlier, I think it might be best for your peace of mind if you re-opened the site once TLW is gone for good. Just so you won’t have to stress over it. I have a feeling the upcoming season will be the last one but gah, who knows for sure? Here’s to hoping!

Re TLW: Season 1 was actually really good and it had Eric Mabius which made it doubly good, for me anyway because he’s the shit. Season 2 was OK, but not great. Season 3 introduced Daniela Sea and had Alan Cumming and Dallas Roberts as a guest star, so it had moments of awesomeness because of those 3, but more or less sucked as a whole. The first 4 eps of Season 4 angered me (read: made my blood boil) to the point that I just couldn’t watch it anymore. If you ever decide to give it a chance, just watch Seasons 1 and 2 and nothing else. Except maybe the hot sex scene between Daniela and Alan in S3. It’s seriously H-O-T, though Riikka and I seem to be the only people who think so. Even though the show blows now, they still somehow managed to get it renewed for a 5th season. Ugh! It’s truly disgusting what Ilene has done with the show and the way that she’s portrayed lesbians, especially Mia’s character. I’m not even a lesbian and I’m offended by most of what has been written over the past few seasons. And don’t even get me started on how the men are portrayed. Not all men are scumbags, but you’d never know that if you watched the show. Even the really good guys who were always good end up being total scum in the end. *pets Dallas Roberts* If I do bring it back, the only coverage on it would be the promo images that pop up and that’s it and it’s good to know that other people have left out certain things and it doesn’t make a site lack anything.
Thanks for the good luck wishes with the Jon site. It seems to be doing fairly well even though it hasn’t been highly publicized. BTW, if you need about an hour and a half’s worth of entertainment, you should definitely check out the podcast with Jon and Justin Long that I posted about on the site over the weekend. It’s hilarious! Their rendition of Lola is so funny and tacky. All the guys on the show sing a portion (but it’s mostly Jon and Justin) that they all just made up on the spot. It’s roughly 1 hour 9 minutes or so into the podcast.

Riikka: Thanks for the Mia feedback. I promise not to make any hasty decisions on its resurrection or remaining dormant for the time being. Bringing the only the gallery back as an archive is another option I’m contemplating too, but am going to continue to think on it all for a while longer because while I do miss it a lot, I don’t want to end up insanely angry again like I did a few months ago when S4 aired. I’m so hoping this is the last season, but the show just can’t seem to die. I truly don’t understand how it can keep going and going like the Energizer bunny. It boggles the mind.

LW: Thanks! CSI: Miami wouln’t be your cup of tea. It’s really pretty, but badly acted by almost everyone (except Jon and Emily Procter is growing on me) and many of the stories are quite far-fetched. I’m so behind on TDZ because of being out of town and having company the past few weekends. Is it turning out to be a good season? Have you been watching Burn Notice? It’s so much fun. I’ve also gotten addicted to Psych and Monk again. Good stuff!
